Multi award-winning artist Catherine Alcorn, is one of Australia's most in-demand entertainers and hosts, described as “a jewel in the crown of Australian theatre” (Adelaide Now), renowned for her powerhouse vocals and razor sharp wit. 


Hailed as a ‘must see!’ by the L.A. TIMES, the critically acclaimed chanteuse takes her live shows back to the old-school, combining killer arrangements, a wickedly inviting sense of humour and her dynamic voice to create an exhilarating act designed to titillate audiences wherever she goes.  

In 2018 Catherine made her triumphant USA and Sydney Opera House debut in her most famous role as The Divine Miss Bette, her smash hit stage show channelling Bette Midler, winning her the Best Cabaret Production in the 2018 Broadway World Awards.

A firm fixture on the festival stage, Catherine has headlined the world’s most celebrated festivals including Sydney Festival, Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Tasmania’s Festival of Voices and Noosa Long Weekend, who later invited Catherine to become their inaugural Festival Ambassador of 2014 and ’15.

Catherine's other theatre credits include her Sydney Theatre Award nominated cabaret Cathartic, the Australian premiere of off-Broadway cult hit 5 Lesbians Eating A Quiche, her award-winning cabaret Go Your Own Way: The Story of Christine McVie and Glen Street Theatre’s Cabaret In The Glen Festival in the role as Artistic Director.

A passionate fundraiser, Catherine has produced multiple campaigns, most notably in 2016 with From Sydney With Love at Sydney Town Hall raising over $70,000 for the victims and families of the heartbreaking Orlando shootings and in 2012 with Floodlight raising over $20,000 for the victims of the devastating QLD floods. 


As an entertainer and host, Catherine has performed for and MC’d some of the world’s biggest brands and events including Apple, Mercedes Benz, Optus, Grant Burge, Special Olympics Australia, Clubs NSW, the SGLBA and Sydney Cabaret Competition. She is a fabulous addition to any event combining her flawless vocals, outrageous wit and unique ability to tailor material in every effort to exploit the latest office scandal or to perfectly suit your event’s theme.

Catherine is regularly invited to perform on Network TV and has appeared on 10's Studio 10 and  7’s The Morning Show and at industry events including Trevor Ashley’s Showqueen and Hayes Theatre Co’s ‘An Evening With’ with David Campbell. 

Recently, after a challenging experience with an audience member, Catherine wrote an essay on body image that went on to be handpicked by Channel 10’s Lisa Wilkinson as an inaugural lifestyle piece for 10 Daily. The story resonated so deeply with readers prompting Lisa to interview her on The Project, cementing Catherine as one of Australia's newest Body Positivity ambassadors. 


Catherine is currently on an Australian national tour of The Divine Miss Bette and is writing a new show with comedy legend Phil Scott which will premiere this October at Hayes Theatre Co.
